We started our journey from Mangaluru on train at 4:30AM. By 1:30 we reached Chalakudi. Chalakudi Railway Station is on the Ernakulam-Thrissur line. From there we cought a auto and went to private bus stand. We got a bus to Athirapally Waterfalls. The Athirapally Waterfalls in Trichur, Kerala, are often referred to as the Niagara Falls of India. They come crashing down from a height of 80 feet, and are an amazing sight to behold. The Athirapilly waterfalls are situated on the Chalakudy river, which originates in the upper reaches of the Western Ghats. Athirappilly is easily reachable from Chalakudy by taking a vehicle for rent or by bus from the Chalakudy private bus terminal.
